Abington Park Day Nursery

Children aged 2 to 3 years old

Preparing our 2 and 3 years old for pre-school is an important part of our role as qualified nursery nurses, and we are keen to ensure that learning is as much fun as possible.

At Abington Park Day Nursery, we understand that the early years of a child's development are critical for ensuring children acquire the essential skills required to be successful at primary school and throughout the rest of their lives.

Early years learning and education

As children grow, they require a more structured approach to their learning and education, and we actively follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS) to plan age-appropriate and motivating activities, specifically designed to develop essential skills; such as language, social-interaction, numeracy, reading and writing in younger children.

We combine a balance of child-led play and adult-initiated learning into our nursery education and regularly monitor the progress of your child's development as part of their ongoing learning journey.

The EYFS framework help us to assess your child's progress in the following development areas:

Potty training

Potty training is a key milestone for many of our 2 and 3 year olds; we work with you and your child to help them adapt confidently to this new experience, gently encouraging children to take responsibility for their own hygiene and emphasising the importance of correct hand washing.

When looking around Abington Park Day Nursery it had the right feel, the staff were all happy to talk and made me feel very welcome,

The nursery provides a good varied diet of food for my child who is a fussy eater but eats so well whilst at nursery.

I feel comfortable leaving my child in the care of all the nursery staff at Abington Park Day Nursery. I always recieve good feedback when I collect my child after a busy day.
